When Is Peach Season?
Peach season will vary depending on where you live, but the time to enjoy fresh peaches is during the summer months.
It falls between April and October, but I personally think of August as peach season as that is when my mom makes her amazing homemade peach pie.
My parents are creatures of habit, and my mom, while not a regular baker, will bake three homemade pies a year for my dad.
September is apple pie month, July is for blueberry pie, and peach pie from scratch is an August tradition.
(Try this apple mug cake, or this blueberry mug cake – they are both amazing.)
So peach season spans the end of spring, and continues until the start of fall, depending on where you live.
If you have lots of fresh peaches, you might want to also try these mini peach scones with vanilla glaze – they are delicious!
Peach Mug Cake Ingredients
Here are the yummy ingredients that make up the peach mug cake:
regular flour or whole wheat flour, or gluten-free all-purpose flour mix
brown sugar (or sub any granulated sugar, white, coconut sugar, erythritol, etc)
melted butter or oil (or coconut oil, any oil works)(vegan butter)
milk any kind
baking powder
vanilla
cinnamon
rolled oats
chopped fresh peaches
Note: If you are using frozen peaches, thaw them first and drain the peach juice. Otherwise your peach mug cake will have too much liquid and might not set properly.
If it isn’t peach season, you could also make this mug cake with canned peaches; just make sure they are drained well.
You can make this a vegan mug cake by using melted vegan butter or oil, and using non-dairy milk.
For a gluten-free peach mug cake, use gluten-free oats, and a gluten-free all-purpose flour mix like this one.
To make a keto version, use this mug cake recipe, and add in the chopped peaches.
